Bi-Fold Doors in Leigh
Leigh is fifteen minutes north of our base and one of our regular patches. Different council, different housing stock and a different typical job from Warrington — but the same doors and the same fitters.

Leigh town, Pennington and Bedford — Victorian and Edwardian terraces, and a lot of inter-war semis. Narrow rear yards on the terraces, so two- and three-pane doors and aluminium French doors more often than wide folding runs.
Atherton, Tyldesley and Astley — mixed stock with more detached and larger semi-detached property, and more of the wide multi-pane work.
Lowton, Golborne and Culcheth edge — see Golborne.
Plank Lane, Higher Folds and Westleigh — post-war estate housing, mostly uPVC replacement and composite front doors.
A lot of Leigh’s housing is terraced, and terraces are where people are told bi-folds won’t work. That’s usually wrong — it’s just that the standard four-pane door is the wrong product.
On a narrow rear elevation the options that actually work are a two-pane bi-fold, which opens the full width and stacks tight against one reveal; a set of aluminium French doors, which suit the proportions of a Victorian rear elevation better than a folding door does; or a window-to-door conversion that takes a small rear window down to floor level without widening it, which needs minimal structural work.
We’ll tell you which one your house wants.
Leigh sits in Wigan Council. We self-certify and register the glazing installation through CERTASS, so there’s no separate application and no Building Control fee for the glazing.
We cover the rest of the patch too — see areas we cover, or have a look at our recent work.
Leigh, Atherton, Tyldesley, Astley and Golborne regularly. Wigan town centre is at the edge of our range — call and ask.
Often yes, with the right configuration. Two-pane doors and French doors are usually the answer rather than a wide folding run.
Yes, and there’s no obligation.
