Supply Only Bi-Fold Doors — Made to Measure, Ready to Fit

If you’ve got a fitter, or you’re doing the work yourself, you don’t need to pay an installer’s margin on the doors. We supply made-to-measure aluminium bi-folds ready to install, with the gear pre-hung and set, the glass in, and the frame packaged to survive the journey.

Trade, self-build and confident DIY all welcome. We’re not precious about who’s fitting it — we just need the sizes right.

What you get

Every supply-only door leaves us:

  • Made to your exact sizes, not to a stock module
  • Glazed — 28mm double-glazed toughened units, low-E soft coat, argon filled
  • Pre-hung and pre-adjusted — the gear is fitted and set at the factory, so it’s square when it arrives
  • Powder coated in any of 200+ RAL colours, single or dual
  • Complete — running gear, multi-point locks, handles, cylinders, threshold, gaskets, trims and fixings
  • Packaged for transit, on a pallet, protected and film-wrapped
  • With fitting instructions and a torque and adjustment guide for the gear

No missing parts, no “the handles come separately”, no returning to us for trims three days into the job.

Supply only or supply and fit?

Supply only makes sense if:

  • You’re a builder, joiner or window fitter running your own jobs
  • You’re a self-builder or doing a full renovation with a team already on site
  • You’re an architect or main contractor specifying for a client
  • You’re a competent DIYer with a helper, a level and no fear of a 90kg door leaf
  • The opening is already formed, square and structurally sound

Supply and fit makes more sense if:

  • The opening needs forming, widening or structural work — see window to bi-fold door conversions
  • You want the Building Regulations certification handled
  • You want a single point of responsibility if anything goes wrong
  • The opening isn’t square, and most existing openings aren’t

We do both, at the same quality. See supply and fit bi-fold doors for the installed option.

One important thing about certification. If you buy supply only, the Building Regulations compliance for the installation is the fitter’s responsibility, not ours. A registered installer can self-certify it; anyone else needs to notify Building Control directly. It’s worth sorting before the doors arrive rather than at sale.

Getting the sizes right

This is the part that goes wrong, so read it properly.

Measure the structural opening, not the existing frame. Width and height, at three points each — top, middle and bottom for the width; left, centre and right for the height. Use the smallest of each set.

Tell us the deductions you want. Doors are normally made 10mm under the structural opening on width and height to give a fitting tolerance for packers and levelling. If your opening is out of square, you may want more.

Check the head is level and the cill is level, and tell us if they aren’t. A bi-fold hung in an out-of-level opening will not fold correctly no matter how good the gear is.

Confirm the threshold type — low or rebated — and the finished floor level inside and out.

Confirm the configuration — number of leaves, stacking direction, whether you want a traffic door and which end it goes.

Send us your measurements and a photo of the opening and we’ll sanity-check them before anything is cut. We’d rather spend ten minutes on that than build a door to a wrong number. Once the doors are made to your sizes, they’re made — bespoke items aren’t returnable, which is why we check.

Delivery

Doors are delivered on a pallet — on our own transport across the North West, and further afield by pallet network. Tell us your postcode when you enquire and we’ll confirm delivery and price with the quote.

  • Lead time: typically 4–6 weeks from confirmed order and sizes
  • Delivery: kerbside, to a hard standing, with a tail lift
  • You’ll need help unloading — a four-pane bi-fold on a pallet is a two-person lift at minimum, and the glass is fragile until it’s in the frame
  • Check the delivery before signing. Note any damage on the paperwork.

Store the doors flat or upright against a wall on their long edge, indoors or under cover, and leave the protective film on until the frame is fixed and the making good is done. Film left on in direct sun for months can be difficult to remove — take it off once the work around the door is finished.

Trade accounts

If you’re fitting more than the occasional door, talk to us about a trade account. We work with builders, joiners, window companies and main contractors across the North West and supply well beyond it.

  • Trade pricing on volume
  • Priority lead times
  • Technical support on configuration and structural queries
  • Consistent product, so your fitters aren’t learning new gear every job

Frequently asked questions

You’re saving the installation labour and the certification overhead. The size of the saving depends on the door and the complexity of the fit — ask us for both prices and decide from there.

Occasionally, for specific trade situations. Ask.

We can make a replacement unit to the same spec. Give us the door reference and the pane position.
